Optos imaging technology helps our team detect diseases and conditions that affect your retina. This device captures an ultra-wide 200° retinal image in half a second using low-powered scanning lasers. Images from previous visits can easily be viewed beside the current image to look for changes.
Optos images (known as “Optomaps”) are useful for diagnosing and following eye diseases like retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein or artery occlusion, and choroidal nevus.
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) produces detailed, cross-sectional images of your retina, optic nerve, or cornea. OCT works much the same way as ultrasound, except that it uses light instead of sound waves to create the images. It does not require any contact with the tissue being imaged, meaning nothing touches your eye.
OCT images are tremendously helpful for diagnosing and monitoring many eye diseases, including age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, macular edema, macular hole, and epiretinal membrane. They are also beneficial when fitting specialty contacts.

The iCare tonometer is a handheld device that uses a small probe to measure your intraocular pressure. This probe gently taps the surface of your eye and analyzes the rebound to get an IOP reading. This probe gently taps the surface of your eye, “feeling like a gentle flutter on your eyelashes,” and analyzes the rebound to get an IOP reading.

The Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer is the gold standard for assessing peripheral vision. This instrument is critically important in testing patients for glaucoma, but it can also detect vision loss from a wide range of other conditions ranging from stroke to medication toxicity. We often use it to verify that patients have enough peripheral vision to be able to drive safely.
The Spot Screener is a handheld device that estimates refractive error and checks for eye misalignment in patients aged 6 months and up. It screens both eyes at once in a few seconds from a one-metre distance, meaning there is no need to put your face close to an instrument and hold still. It is great for squirmy young kids, patients with sensory issues such as autism, and people in wheelchairs.
MYAH is an imaging and analyzing technology that helps our team measure myopia progression in children and detect dry eye symptoms.
